I have a 03, 6.0. When i'm driving i get a air sucking sound when i let my foot off the fuel. I was told this might be the waste gate valve. Does any one know.
Thanks
Attila

Its a turbo fart, you have no wastegate, so when you let off the throttle, the pressure goes back out through your air cleaner. Not a problem, its not hurting anything.
I understand the turbo fart, but now it is doing it as i'm traveling down the road. Even when i'm crusing along at normal speeds. It is constant. It feels like the fuel is cuting out and the truck is bucking, but at the same time it is making that air sucking sound.
Sounds maybe like you have an exhaust leak or maybe a boost hose with a hole in it. It's possible you've blown a hole in your intercooler. At any rate, that would explain the bucking or fuel cutting out feeling. The computer it trying to compensate for the weird boost or lack of boost by adjusting the VGT. Start at one end of the system and follow it to the other. The exhaust tubes will be really hard to see, but look for excessive black along the firewall or around the back of the turbo. Telltale signs of an exhaust leak.

check out this link to the 6.0 bible. Add it to your favorites in your browser. It will give you lots of good info about your engine and even though it has no real tech info maybe it will explain some things that are happening to your motor and where to look.
