Waste gate & EGT's?

Is it just me? I hooked my waste gate back in, and it sure seems like my EGT's rose about 50*-75* while running aroung town & while towing?

Makes sense. Your getting less cooling air from less boost.

I had to replace mine with the Banks Big Head. When I took my old wastegate off, the rod just kinda hung there with a ton of slack in it. Even with the red line unhooked it would still open up.

You can add tension to the spring so it stays shut virtually all the time.

I just tightend mine today, but did not know how much? I tightend it about 10 turns and it is very hard to move now. Is that too much or how do you know?

Some folks tighten them so they don't open at all.
This is going to shorten the bearing life but these units are fairly easily rebuildable. Around $125 for a rebuild kit and some extra cash for getting it balanced.
