I own a 90 Ford Lariat XLT and am unable to find a bumper to fit it, the bumper has a small bow in it and i was wondering if there is an easy way to fix it, i already jacked the truck up by the bumper and left it there all day, and it looked good while it was jacked up but wont stay in that position when i let out the jack. any help? or is there another year of bumper i could look for to fit the same?
A company called Keystone Crash Parts has bumpers for just about any domestic product you can think of. I have a 94 and I'm pretty sure the chrome front bumper was around $225, not sure on the rear, but you didn't say which one it was. I can get you their number and part numbers if you need.
well just tell me that i can order some push bars and brush gaurds along with my bumper and i think i will start drooling. go ahead and send that 800 number.
i am going to start getting the pics online soon, but to better let you know where it is, i will let you in on how it happened. i was exiting out of the parking lot near my house and i lit the truck up and roasted out of the parking lot on wet pavement and slid into a pole. the truck hit the pole and bent the bumper in towards the front passenger side tire and dimpled the hood. the hood popped back out with a lead hammer in 3 seconds. the impact point was on the right edge of the passenger projector. and the light was never really hurt. i had ideas of trying to use a jack and jacking the bumper away from the truck so that it would take the small crease out in the middle.
That Gave Me A Grand Idea, and I have acess to a come-along with a payload of 3 tons. I am going to try to replace the bumper bolt with an eye bolt and a few washers and come along it from the tow hitch on the bucket truck.
ours was bent right in the middle ...so we drilled a whole in it (under the front tag) and then put a i-bolt in it , and then hooked it to a tree and backd up a few times and it straightened back up ... well good luck hope you get it fixed
