One man RANCH HAND bumper install; PICS

I have been wanting one of these for so long. Finally got one. It came to my shop the other day on an 18 wheeler and it was all mine. Paid $947 shipped from Texas off of eBay. Wrapped up on a small pallet it weighed 296 lbs. The bumper itself weighs 262 lbs. Came with all hardware and instructions that were very good. I couldnt wait to get started so I figured I would go ahead and start taking my bumper off to see what I was getting into. That was pretty easy. I also did away with the blocker beam and cut off the brackets that held it on. I wanted the extra clearance and it looked like crap too. I was wondering if I was going to be able to get the thing on by myself considering the weight of it. I was prepared to drive around with no front bumper for a few days until I could recruit some help. But, I got it on and this is basically how I did it.

1. Turn RH bumper around.
2. Bend it over.
3. Give it a good reaming.
4. Repeat phrase "Who's your daddy?"

VOILA! Done!

Seriously, it was kind of tough but I had it on my truck within 4 hours of it being dropped off. I used 1 floor jack, 1 Hi-lift jack, 2 jack stands and all the strength I had. I was pretty proud of myself and VERY happy with the results!

I havent installed the factory fogs yet because both of mine were broken. I am ordering new ones and they will go in asap.

I love this thing. I cant wait for a deer to run out in front of me to test this thing out.

Looks real good. I should have got the whole bumper myself. Maybe the next trip to Houston.

That's sweet! I love the Ranch Hands, and all that diamond plating. For some reason, it just looks SO MUCH BETTER on an Excursion than the pickups. Don't get me wrong, I like them on both, but the Excursions just look extra-good. But I'm biased...now I have a new "wish list" item...

Nice! Looks like something I need to get for my truck...here in Baltimore it seems like stepping out into traffic is the official town pastime.

LOL...you need to get a cattle guard like on the old locomotives to simply push them away and off to the side!
