Just bought this for very cheap and the motor runs great but the trans slip when under load going up hill.
Queston is. I was talking to a friend and he said that it might be the Vacuum modulator.
Is this something worth wild to change or should I just replace the trans as already planed.
The vaccum madulator should not be to hard to change and it would cost a lot less than a rebuild if you do it yourself. if you take it to a shop the will charge you for a complete rebuild though.

Do you know this for a fact or just spouting off useless drivel?
Or is the attitude you would take if you owned a transmission shop?
I just started college for automotive. I am taking auto trans class right now. I have not worked on a c6 yet but i know on a chevy 700R4 they are not that hard. When im at college monday i can get some information about what all you would have to have and exactly how to get it off for you. I have acces to all of the automotive information and technicall advice. Ill see what i can do for you man. I know how you feel about the transmission because i in in the middle of rebuilding my own e40d out of a 90 model f250 desiel.
I can see it now, a professionally rebuilt 40 year old designed C-6 in automatics 101.
Everyone must start somewhere, a 700R would be great to tear apart and place in the garbage can, see 700R's have some value.
