I'm considering buying an old 78 f150 4x4 with a 460 and a manual, but i'd rather have a c6. My buddy Captain p4 is getting an 87 4x2 with a c6 and he said i could have the tranny/steering column real cheap from him. I was simply wondering if that stuff will bolt up and work, i really don't want to offroad with that manual, considering i'd probably have to replace the clutch before i used it anyway.
1) Get it and just keep the standard and use it as is, b/c trying to swap to a auto will bring up alot of issues that would need to be seen too causeing alot of down time.(like running ATF lines to the radiator, getting a t case adapter, and actually haveing time to drop two trannys and bolt one in, swap steering colums, get rid of the clutch pedel, ect.....)
2) Forget about the truck and find one that already has what you want.
