Why do you drive a Ford?
I've never owned a Ford myself prior to me buying my 73 F350 Camper Special. My parents had two Fords. One was an 1980 Bobcat wagon. It was the worst car my mom had. Then she traded it for an 1985 Topaz. This one made the worst car over the Bobcat. 
Then my mom traded it for an 89 Celebrity 4dr and she still has it...300K or some odd miles on original everything.
My dad once said, Ford makes good trucks not cars.

I like Chevy engines (especially the 350, and 455) but for the running gear FORD has the tuff stuff.
Cut and dried - there's a solid reason behind race cars using FORD 9 incher's no matter what the rest of the machine was.....

The Bobcat (same as the Pinto) and the Topaz (same as the Tempo) were never really good cars and not really a good example of Ford overall. Older Escorts weren't really good either, like the one my parents had in 82.

It's hard to believe it still had all original parts. They did seem to last, though. My aunt had an 89 Celebrity also and she kept it to 150K + miles when she got rid of it. Of course, her husband had an 87 Taurus Wagon that had at least that many miles on it when they sold it to their son. I'm still with FORD all the way!

My parents sware by Toyotas and Hondas, but when I was 16 or 17 I saw a lifted '68 Bronco on a local used car lot and I fell in love with it...I soon became obsessed with early broncos, but I felt that I needed more creature comforts. So I went looking for a big bronco and my '95 was the one that ened up following me home. Every since then I have been a Ford man....

well.....my dad had a 1979 F-250 that i was pretty much born in, at least most of it....that probabaly has alot to do with it, i think its kind of like the bond between a mother and a son or something. He sold that in 1993 and immediately after we flew to Oregon and drove a brand spankin new 1993 Explorer home..which we still have, it has been the greatest car ever! after that my mom bought a chevy corsica brand new....crapped out in about 3 months (motor mounts FELL OFF!) so that pretty much soured all of us on chevys forever. after that she bought a jeep, it was a good car, they tried to pawn it off on me, so itraded it in on my 95 after buying my own 79 which my dad is in lvoe with, hes still mad about selling his old 250......as he says "nothin like adding a quart of oil every time you gas up, makes ya feel like a man!"

Fords drive better...although I do have a buick regal for the family car..nice smooth drive. Fords just seem to be more solidly built from the outside to the inside. The ***** are not the Pontiac specials and the GM's just look tinky at times. jim

Because after I sued GM for paint delamination on my 1993 Chevy pickup this past year, I decided to try Ford.
With the $4,000 small claims decision, I bought a 2002, F-250, 4x4, CC, Auto.
I like it.

HAHA..u really wanna know why i drive a ford?? OK...I drive a Ford because the Chevy truck i really wantedis to expensive for the same year Ford truck. I wanted the older style Chevy Silverado(mid to late 80's). They wanted like $5000 for that year, and i bought my Ford for only $2000 for that year range(86'). Sorry boys, but i was really gunning for a Chevy, but couldn't afford it!! So had to settle for the F-150 4x4. Oh well...I sold it yesterday morning for $2300(made $300 on her..even though i put almost $600 into her). Now i'm gonna buy myself a Grand Prix 2 Dr. w/ spoiler and ground effects!!! BOOOYA! My dream car. Don't even tell me they suck. The Calipers rust out but i can replace em myself, and it doesn't run that crappy Quad4, so i'm happy. Laterz!!

A. My Dodge RAM sucked wind, the closest dealership's service sucks eggs and Dodge does not make a crew cab 3500 truck.
B. The last Chevy I owned ( leased in '97 ) had a suspension problem, it was lower by 1.5" on the front driver's side. After much investigation, it was decided fixing it would require a new front end, however, it was not a problem, it was "safe and functional". I wanted it FIXED. But instead of fixing it, I was told "GM declined to repair it because it was a leased vehicle and I could return it at the end of my lease". If I then bought the truck I could persue a repair... Ummm... excuse me, but it has a 36/36k warranty... that will be expired at the end of the lease... I will not own a GM product after that taste of GM. I even have a GM card with over $2000.00 in rebate cash available on it... and won't use it. I'm waiting for a friend or someone to buy a new GM and I'm going to give them the rebate, then cancel the card.
C. Decent local service is available, I can get X-plan pricing, Ford makes what I want, I love the dependability of the PowerStroke.

Well , I've got a Ford And a Gmc. I,ve driven the Ford since 1973. It looks and runs as good now as it did when it was new. Its been a great truck. So you may ask if after all these years of driving a Ford what am I doing with A GMC. Well in 1999 when i wanted a new truck I looked at the new Fords and decided life was too short to drive a ugly truck. The newer Ford style is just plain ugly to me.I bought a GMC Seirra Z-71. I still have my 73 Ford . I still drive it ocasionally. I only hope my GMC lasts as long. Ford still builds a tough truck but they sure are ugly.
