95 7.3 PS auto

Ok, here is my question, I bought a used 95 PSD, the PO gave me a 3 in downpipe with the truck so my buddy and i put it on while i was on leave to home, so i put the down pipe on and left it as is. I will have about 5 days at home when i get out of my current deployment to buy and install a cat-back system. so my quesiton is, how do i keep the whistle of the turbo but get rid of the thunder of engine noise(ist great except for the long haul), is it even possible, do i just put a straight pipe in front of the rear tires, or go behind them, its a supercab if that makes a diff, i was thinking of a bullydog 4" cat back, as that is what "summit racing" has in stock to sell. I am fron Akron oh. any help would be great as i am saving till i get home in 4 months. ok thanks, do good and be well

Most aftermarket systems should allow the turbo whistle to come through the tail pipe, even with a muffler. The killer(I believe) of the whistle is the stock muffler with all the baffles inside. A good aftermarket straight through muffler should be able to help you achieve what you are looking for.
