I just installed a new stereo in my 1994 bronco and it will not turn on. I checked power wires with a test light. ignition wire works fine but no power to battery wire on either side of the harness. All connections are good and all fuses in box are fine. Is there an in line fuse to this wire?
Triple-check the ground wire. There wasn't an inline fuse on my Bronco until I put one in with the radio. The later models may be different. Pull the radio back out (I know it's not fun...I pulled mine countless times) and check for an inline fuse.
I have a rampage stereo it came with a black wire that had to be connect to the frame of my truck. There was also a red wire which is the power wire. If you have these wires check them!! HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!:-X12
When connecting a new stereo you deal with 3 wires which are essential. The constant 12V, the switching power wire and the ground. If the ground wire is not attached securely to a clean metal surface the stereo will not work. Check it and if need be position it somewhere else on the truck behind the dash. Make sure your switching 12v and constant 12v wires are in correct orientation. Do you have the adapter from the Ford connector to you new setup or have you hard wired the harness? If your wiring setup is all correct get in there with a multimeter and check the continuity of the wires to make sure that one of them doesn't have a break in it somewhere. Those wires are thin and can break easily if they get pinched or pulled too hard. Hope this helps. Good luck!
