351W vs 302 flexplate.

Ok- I have an 87 302 I just rebuilt, and have an 87 351W for parts. Can I use the flexplate from the 351W on the 302? Supposedly they are the same weight, same bellhousing, same starter used, same tranny/torque convertor. Thanks.

1981/ 302 .. E1TZ-6375-C w/C-6

1984/ 351W .. D1ZZ-6375-A w/C-6

However, if both the 302 and 351W were from 1980 only D1ZZ-6375-A would work for both.

There are a bunch of different flywheels for the 80's 302/351W trucks (CA, non CA w/ or w/o this or that etc)...after checking everything thrice..this info is correct.

HemiEater..where were you 20 minutes ago when I needed you...LOL

It's a matter of balance.

302's

1980 uses D1ZZ-6375-A Flywheel
1980 uses D8TZ-6316-B Vibration Damper
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1981/89 uses E1TZ-6375-C Flywheel

1981 uses E1TZ 6316-D Vibration Damper

1982/83 uses E1TZ-6316-A Vibration Damper

1984/89 uses E4TZ-6316-A Vibration Damper
***************************************
351W

1980/89 (exc 1981 CA) uses D1ZZ-6375-A Flywheel

1981 (CA only) uses E0AZ-6375-A Flywheel

1980 uses D2AZ-6316-A Vibration Damper

1981/84 w/o EEC uses E4TZ-6316-B Vibration Damper

1981/83 with EEC uses E1TZ-6316-B Vibration Damper

1985/87 uses E4TZ-6316-B Vibration Damper

1988/89 uses E8TZ-6316-B Vibration Damper

See if you can find a combo that works, I can't..I can barely see. After trying to decipher all this rigamarole, using a viewer with scratchy slides, I'm unbalanced!

87 302 needs a 50 oz balance flexplate, the 351W's were all 28 oz.
