I have a 99 f150 w/ 4.2 that has a 3.5" fabtech control arm suspension lift and 3" body lift. Last week some lady hit me (nothing major) and upon getting repaired the insurance comany was going to cover an alignment. They called me today saying it could not be aligned due to the ball joints being worn and they were going to get me a quote from ford for the ball joints but it appears that they are aftermarket with the suspension lift and the factory ones would not work.
I was wondering if anyone could verify this. Does it just so happen that only fabtech ball joints work with their lifts/control arms or would one from ford be fine because it seems like im going to have a hell of a time trying to get the fabtech ball joints if thats the case.
have you called fabtech? they'd be able to tell you better than anyone! i cant see why fabtech would require a custom balljoint, you'd thikn they'd machine their arms to accept factory bj's BUT on the other hand thats more money in their pocket
