Question 305/65r18

Will the BFG 305 65 18 fit a stock 04 F250 w/ a camper package only?

I can tell you they fit a stock F350 with no problems.

Thanks RJB1, I understand the 05s and up have more clearance because of the coil over springs in the front. I hope someone out there has them or has tried them on an 04...I dont want to have to figure this out by having them test fit.

I would say they should fit nicely. I am running a tire that is bigger than the 305's with no problems. Mine are 35X12.5R18 (34.8X12.8R18 actual size), yes I do have 2 minor rub spots. At full turn I just barely touch the leafs, and also just touch the rear of the fender liners. Neither are a problem as this is only at full turn and not during normal driving/turning. So with the 305's not being quite as wide or as tall, you should have no rubbing/problems at all.

Are you on stock rims? What tires are you running? Do you have pics?

Well after alot of research and some trial and error, I ended up with Pro Comp Xtreme A/T's 35X12.5R18. They are mounted on the factory 18"x8" rims. I did test fit a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's 325/65R18 before deciding on the Pro Comps, but they were too wide and rubbed too much. I looked at the BF 305's but I wanted somthing a little larger. Sorry no pics.

My other major concern was that the 305s would not be big enough, there is an awful big wheel well to fill on these things.

Anyone else running 35x12.50R18 on the stock rims without a lift. I might even consider throwing a leveling kit on if I could get away with the 35s, honestly i did think it could be pulled off with a 2" leveling kit.

I would love to see some pics of these setups if ya got em

I got the BFG 305-65R18 tires, think about a leveling kit now. probably the DR 2" spring pack kit. Has anyone ever installed the kit themselves? Is an alignment needed after adding the kit?

Looks real nice... Those were the ones I was considering if I could not get the 35"s to fit. Yours definately look like they have a bit more clearance than mine. Any rubbing?

What pressure you running those things at? I am still in the process of finding the best pressure for mine. I am pretty close right now at 50 psi Front and 45 psi Rear for general everyday use.

I just got them yesterday so I have not really played with the air pressure yet. The sticker near the gas cap says the tires should be at 60psi in the front and 70 psi in the back of course that is based on the stock 275-65r18 tire. Shouldn't your pressure be higher in the rear?

It rubs just a hair a full turn but nothing serious.

The installers put them at 58 psi all around and the tires show a max psi of 65.

Actually I am thinking of taking the pressure down a bit more. I also had the 275/65R18's before changing out to the 35"s. The stockers were rated at 3415# @ 80psi max. The sticker on the truck said to run 60psi front and 70psi rear. Based on load/inflation charts the stock tire holds 2825# @ 60psi and 3150# @ 70psi. My truck is a daily driver that I rarely load up, so I used to run my stock rears at 50psi (2535#) for a better ride.
The new tires I have are 3415# @ 65psi max. So running 50psi in the front gives me 2910# and 45psi in the rear gives me 2735#. I am thinking about trying 45psi front and 40psi rear.
Your new tires are 3525# @ 65psi max. My load/inflation numbers should be close to yours, so running 58psi all around would give you about a 3300# per tire capacity. You may want to contact BFG and get the exact load/inflation ratings for your tire.

Do you happen to have a shot of your truck with these tires head on, or tail on? Id love to see the stance, and how far they stick out past the fenders (if at all). Thanks

I can tell you that the 305's do not stick out past the fenders. I am running 35X12.50's (mentioned above) on basically the same wheel (H-D version) on my '04 and they are within the fenders, but just barely.

They dont stick out past the fenders, well they are closer than the stockers were and it makes it a bit harder to keep it clean because when you turn through mud or water it tends to throw it all over the side of the truck.

If you are looking to avoid that roller skate look, where the tires stick way out beyond the fenders you really have nothing to worry about because it certainly does not look like that.

I will say though that this is based on the stock rims and back spacing, if you go with different set of rims with different back spacing they may stick out.
