Anyone have wear/other problems mounting a 34.5X12.50 tire on the stock 18X8 lariat wheels?
I am thinking of ordering this size but would like to retain my stock wheels, but the tire manufacturers recommend a 9" wide wheel.
Any help would be appriciated. I am 100% sure this has probably been covered but what the heck!

No issues. I'm on my second set of BFG AT KO 305/65/18's on the stock 18" wheels. I run them at 65 (max per sidewalls) all winter due to the weight of the plow and spreader, and drop them down to 55 in the summer unless I'm hauling heavy then I bump them back up. No wear issues at all.
I am kinda embarrassed! I was really hopin nooone would answer this thread, I tried to edit it, but didnt know how. It shoulda read 325/65R18 on stock 2006 Lariat wheels! I truly thank you for your input, but it was my mistake! Anyways my buddy (same wheels) is running 325/65R18 cooper stt's on his truck, with no apparant problems. He doesnt know about abnormal wear with them though, as they are his winter tires and wheels. So now the question is "does anyone run 325/65R18's on there stock lariat wheels with no wear issues. I am looking at a set of Fierce attitudes in this size.
325/65 is too wide for stock 8" wide wheels. most will recommend at LEAST a 9" wide wheel. you will wear the centers down faster, and will have to adjust pressure to come close to even wear. I'd not do it. 295's are as wide as I'd recommend on stock 18's. the larger the wheel diameter, the wider the wheel needs to be, to keep from "pulling" the sidewall in. make sense? CAN you do it, sure. Will it wear good, nope. My bro-in-law has been running 305's on his stock 16"x6.5" chevy wheels. and wonders why the wear sucks. too narrow wheel for that tire.

Thanks, that confirmed my worries! Tires are too expensive to trash em on purpose! Does anybody make a 34" all terrain tire for an 18" wheel that is narrower, and NOT 400$ a tire! Tire prices for these big stupid wheels is ridiculous! I remember on my 95 F-150 putting 4 real nice 33" all terrains on it for less than 400$! I know they are making brakes bigger and better (good thing) but I hate these big wheels!
