Just to set the record straight, I didn't do the swap. I actually got the truck as part of a trade. I use it to haul lumber, drywall, etc, when doing home improvement projects.

Yes, it has plenty of power. Yes, the engine and trans are wet with fluids, but it's not wet enough to drip. I didn't put the chrome on. Yes, the d-shaft should be an inch or two longer but it's been like that for 8 years without any problems.

I like it. Good parts, and annoys brand purists on both sides.

Very true there- I'll have to get some pics of my buddie's mud rig. He's got an old S10 blazer(the small ones) on an old 66-77 bronco frame, he swapped in a Dana 44 out of international scout (for the passenger side pig up front) and runs a mopar 360/727/NP203. It's actually done very nicely and you wouldn't know it was such a chop job.

Here's a pic of it, although it's muddy. He's got it painted pretty nice to. And he fabbed the toneau cover on the back(he chopped off the passenger compartment) He's a pretty decent fiberglass worker.

So how does that 440 breathe with that closed off air cleaner?

It's not closed off. It's opened all the way around the bottom. The lower piece is the same diameter as a regular open element cleaner.

How about going to another extreme. I've found two F-series trucks that are putting this monster in:

An all aluminum ford V8, the GAA. It's the 1100CID monster that was found in Sherman tanks. Just over 1000ft/lbs of torque off idle.

This is one of those hidden gems that turns up in the oddest places. It's about 900lbs without front accessories (when put on a diet) and parts are hard to find. The neat part is the 60 degree's between cylinders which makes it narrow and it's only 4" longer than the I6 engine. 4 valve cyclinder heads with twin gear driven cams. Ford I believe had it as a 12 cylinder for aircraft use and loped off 4 cylinders for the Shermans.

The truck this topic is originally about certainly is well named.

I've crushed trucks nicer than it. How did it ever get tags on it with problems visible in pictures, especially in the Keystone State ? . . . . or are they "NQL" tags?

Is it true MOPAR is an acronym for Motor On Pavement After Race? Why did you post this on a Ford Truck Enthusiast site, do you want sympathy? Hope not we laugh at stuff like this truck represents where I am.
Good Luck Anyway.
