Hey tite4x4 thanks for the info. You commnenst brought up another question. If I add a second battery would I have to have an alternator to such as you stated, that would handle two batteries?
The only type of battery systems that I've installed, we install and mount an isolation diod in an open area under the hood, they cost around $100. Most of the alternators we have done are Leece Neville, 200amp, there very maintnance free. I can't remember what type other than that right now. Just for information, a 2 1500watt and 1 750watt tied together with 4 12" subs only pull around max peak 80amps. My 750watt amp. with 2 15" subs only pulls around 20-25 peak amps.

Hey miketnf150
The only reason I went to this type of alternator is that I did not want to add an isolation diod or other component related to this concept in an open area under the hood, like what Broncoroadkill states. I've already added a lot of stuff under the hood as it is, and I am starting to run out of room. And the alternator that I ordered has all the nesisasary components built in to where I just take out the old & put in new and run the wire.
