Settings on my Edge Evolution EEF2400 do not stay in Edge memory
I found an interesting item you may be interested in and/or can help me out with if you have the same tuner for your Ford F-150 Triton 4.6L - 5.4L V8 engine. I have the 5.4L with a Volant CAI and Gibson Dual Sport Exhaust)
Again, Edge Evolution Model EEF2400
1. I installed per directions (keeping the ignition key "ON" position when plugging into diagnostic port (OBDII).
2. Tuner performed initial "Read" of factory settings for future needs)
3. Set tuner for Level 3 or "performance"
4. Set "Tire Size" for 275 55 20 (or 2546)
5. Set "Gear Ratio" for 3:55 (from factory)
6. Ran process to update PCM. All went without ANY problem, update made.
7. When I go back into the settings functions to check if the settings have been "taken", I get the same settings as the "Edge factory installed" settings (Edge default) Not my new tire size and gear ratio settings??
8. Hmmmm..... re-ran process, no change.. called Edge Tech support. They said that was correct, the tuner shows the original factory settings, if you check the functions again, as I did, not the newly changed settings.... Hmmm... page 15 of manual says "The default value of the Evolution displays is the current value stored in the PCM". He said that I caught a mis-type in the manual and thanked me for the sharp eye !! lol...
9. I don't know what to believe?? It "seems" as if the changes have been incorporated into the PCM as I desired, but it bothers me to not know if that is true??? So, what is it that you have experienced?? New settings show in display after the change or the Edge Factory default settings??
It should be stated correctly, if nothing else in the manual, but I have also made a plea to Edge to make the unit display the ACTUAL settings as programmed in the PCM.
Thank you in advance for your input/help.
