Fixed the heater in my truck yesterday. Froze my hands touching the cold metal fan motor. Toughest part was removing the fan blades to put on the new fan motor. They were rusted on. I broke the 3 tabs that the fan motor holds onto the shaft, but it does not seem to be slidding off as the fan turns.
Man the cold weather is not fun to drive with now heater motor to defrost. Especially last night driving home in freezing rain. It came down so hard had to stop and scarpe the windsheildd off twice. The heater could not keep up to the rain., but the cab was toasty.
good to hear you got the heater going again... what did you end up getting it for? i take it you bought a new one if it didnt have the fan on it? dont ya hate that
It rained last night driving home out this way. Rain and snow both coming down ay around 9:30 last night. Roads were good in morning to work.
The heater fan motor is new. Cost about $65.00
I just deceided at that price to go with new than a $5.00 one from the wreckers. The motor that went was already off my parts truck. Its shaft was seized up good.
