Just to let everyone know ford DID make excursions with a v12 it didnt last long cause it was extremly problem matic so yes they did do the v12 but no it wont win a tugowar with a diesel dually the dually has alot more torque
Yup, its the 8.1L V12. They took a 5.4 and added an additional 4 cylinders.
Wow I missed that too. Now that these two classmates are 5 years older I wonder if they are more intelligent and are not longer playing tug of war with trucks. At the very least I hope they have learned how to pop a hood and count the number of spark plugs on a gas motor.

Gonna need pics, build sheet and window sticker for that one.
I will hate myself later in the morning for replying to a 5 year thread!
The likelihood of an Excursion having a V-12 is just as good as a Crown Victoria having a V-10. News alert..... there are several transplanted V-10s in Crown Victorias nationwide.
Just because a kid claims his Excursion has a V-12 neither makes it true or untrue. The only way to tell for sure is to pop the hood and count the spark plugs. Until proven not true, I would have no problem believing that an Excursion possibly has a V-12. Especially if the kid comes from a RICH household.
Shame on all of you closed mind people who shout out SCAM so quickly.

While I see what you're getting at I just don't agree. The Crown Vic has the benefit of a few V10 engines to choose from, as well as the fact that the 6.8L V10 shares a LOT in common with the 4.6L V8 that they put in Crown Vics. It wouldn't be impossible to get the PCM to work with the transmission and the rest of the car, and it would bolt up to the existing transmission and possibly motor mounts.
How many V12s are there to choose from? Will they bolt up to a 4R100? Will the PCM talk with the rest of the truck? Will they hold up with consistently high engine load? A V12 swap in an Excursion would make a V10 swap in a Crown Vic seem like an alternator replacement.
