My F-250 has a long bed, but its also the Camper Special, and I like it. My old man always had short beds, and he loved them.
I think they are only good for 4-wheelin'. Otherwise, gimme a longbed that I can put my dirt bike and my ATV in at the same time, along with all my gear!

the only way to go is long bed. i use my truck for hauling stuff almost everyday, and a short bed would not cut it. in my opinion, the long bed regular cab is the nicest looking out of all the configurations. hardest to park though, would have to be the 88 super duty with a 17' chevron rollback on it. but it came in handy for those trips to home depot.
I've had a '97 F150 Lariat supercab longbed & a 2000 F150 Lariat
supercab shortbed---the 2000 was much easier to handle and
park in tight places. But now I'm back to my 2nd '79 F150 with
standard cab & longbed. Miss the extended cab, but like the room
to haul---especially with a dirt-bike & ramp.
I like both... But since I hardly haul anything I'm more partial to shortboxes. Both my dad's extended cab f-250s look good with longbeds. Oh well... get what you need.

For the most part, I prefer short bed. If I had a full size truck and a camper, I'd go for the long bed. Otherwise, I'd rather have the shortbed for easier turning and parking, and looks. If I want to haul anything, I'd put it on a trailer.

(Yes, I have a canopy, for sleeping in my truck, extra seating, and
hauling things. It rains a LOT here..)
