PDA question

someone a while back gave me a dell pda and i was wondering how to get it to work with my wireless network?

it picks up the signal and everything but it seems to not ever want to log on, keeps displaying configure network places.....well, its configured and still keeps coming up.

thanks.

Can you surf the web on it? Check for updates for it. Also check your router settings for type of encryption and the wireless"B" settings. Also some cordless phones can interfere with wireless connections

Do you have the manual for it? If not you can probably go to Dell website and get it.The PDA's are not easy to get connected. I have an Ipaq and don't use the wireless network, because it is a pain.

I had the some problem when I first got my X51. After three sessions on Dell technical support chat and a couple of phone calls, still had the problem. I found the answer to my problem on aximsite. Perhaps it will work in your case. Enable wireless networking. Once the PDA is connected, click on the signal strength indicator in the lower right side of screen. That will bring up a screen (at least on my X51), of WLAN utility. On the screen are selections for Power and Setting. Under Power, Power Save Mode, select disable.

That allowed me to connect to wireless networks and log on the internet. I don't know about other Dell models, but this worked for my X51. Good luck.

start with setting up your wireless without any encryption first, have you set up the wireless trhu the connections manager, not just when prompted by the PDA when accessing the internet?
