i would think they would have the insurance and obviously the space, plus a host of kids to put their cars in the show....what we would need to negotiate is the split of the funds...the school should be able to get free advertising as a non profit as well...

Sounds like maybe the show would be held some time before school is out next year?????
Barry why don't you form a committee to explore the options with the school?

I don't think it would take much.
School provides insurance / space
School clubs can sell food and drinks, they keep the profits
Entry fee pays for dash plaques, trophies and any admin stuff (paper ballots, pens, etc)
FTE sells 50/50 tickets for a profit
