Tires

Well it's about time for me to bite the bullet and buy new tires. I am just wondering what brand you guys run. My truck is a dually so that limits my choices I suppose, and I am looking for at least an all terrain. I do to quite frequently if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance,

I usually run mud tires, but the mileage is low because of the deep tread and the cost is rather high when you buy them. I had the best luck not getting stuck with the Bridgestone RMT which cost over 225 each. I usually never made 20,000 miles on a set of them. Nice tire overall, drove nice on the pavement, not real noisey like most mud tires and they performed very well in the mud.

I am right now running Mastercraft all terrain which are made by Cooper Tire. They don't go like the Bridgestones in the mud, but they have over 20,000 miles on them and still have lots of tread left. Plus they were only 135 each.

I am running BF Goodrich Commercial Traction T/A with studs all 4 tires for winter. They have worn very well have around 25,000 on them with 1/3 tread left. Have been the best snow tire I used yet. The summer tires I use well I will never buy again. They are Kelly 315's not sure of the model but it should be labled afraid of mud and snow.

Just remembered those 315's are Kelly Safari. Smooth as glass on the highway but keep them on the highway. Mud or snow might as well get some slicks.

Great thanks for all your input. Winger, would the BFG's you listed work on a dually?

Check out the Cooper ATS's

I love um. Very good traction and long wear. After years of paying thru the nose for Michelins, I won't buy anything else

I'm a big fan of Mastercraft(coopers) but the truck I have now came w/ these tires called Stampedes... I'll tell you that I'm really picky about tires and when it comes to tires I gotta have the best on anything I drive and anything that anyone in my family drives! This truck came w/ practically brand new tires so I didn't have to shop for them and let me tell you I love them, they have like 10-15,000 miles on them w/ out any wear at all and I never have to worry about them.... I have never even checked the tire pressure in these things because they are just rock solid and I know they'll be at the right psi... I've bumped a few curbs w/ the dually w/ no worries at all, the fronts look like commercial truck tires, the backs have a nice deep tread, I know i'm going to get a lot of miles out of them. I dont even look at them all I know is they say STAMPEDE but if you want more info I'll see what else they say... I just love having tires that I can just drive on and never have to look at....

Yep they would work nice and the price was around 125-130 as I recall. Had a set on a 91 SuperDuty.
