Yea, those two dash brackets make things a bit tight for the 48-50 trucks. Were you able to fit the 51-52 set up through te two tiny little openings in those brackets? I might have a 51-52 set up (I'll have to dig through the boxes in the shed)
I havent really started looking at it seriously but I think I will mount my wiper motor in the center of the dash area (the radio location) Since I'm not too worried about factory locations I'll mount a radio in an overhead console (someday)

I don't remember and I have the truck in storage in an unheated shed in the back of the farm so I can't really get to it right now to see what I exactly did. I know I cut the pivoted brace of the passenger side, welded a nut on each piece and inserted a threaded rod to join them together. I then mounted the electric motor above the dash pack, the location of the original vacuum motor.

Please don't go out there and try and look. I'm not going to be messing with wipers for several months. I have a pretty good mental picture of what you did from your description and will probably do something similar.
