I use Diesel Kleen with the added cetane boost with every tank for lubrication and for cetane numbers. I have used it since my first diesel. The truck runs very well and has a number of performance and efficiency enhancing modifications. So I don't think the additive is the issue though you will find people on this forum that are fans of several different additives. I use DK because its handy.

The same with me as far as Stanadyne, thats all I ever used. Nice to hear there is another good additive thats easy to find. I will have to give it a try. I went with this additive when I first bought my truck because all of the injector shops around me only sells stanadyne.

Do a Search on this forum for EBPS cleaning. Use the advanced search feature to limit to this topic and forum. I don't remember the link but there are instructions on cleaing the EBP sensor and a tube that goes from the exhaust manifold on the passenger side of the engine to the sensor just under the belt tensioner on the front of the engine. It is a relatively simple process but cleans the soot out of the tube and the sensor. Took me about 45 minutes the first time.

Hope this helps.
