I have a 1976 Ford F150 Ranger XLT... and I recently had the heater core replaced and the heater has been working awesome. Well this morning while it was warming up the fan just stopped and air stopped coming out of the defrost vents. Well it has been cold here in Oregon and I need this fixed but don't want to spend more money at the mechanic shop. Any idea on what the common problem would be? I checked the fuses and the one that said heater was fine... should I be checking somewhere else or what else could cause it to just stop like that with no warning. Thank you!

Recheck the fuse box, sometimes the connections to the fuses go bad and lose tension. Otherwise check the rest of the connections down the line to the motor.
You may also have a bad heater blower motor resistor. This mounts to the front of the Plenum Chamber (heater box) with two screws. It's a part common to both cars and trucks.

I have had this problem once before and fixed it with a light tap on the heater motor. It just got stuck or something. It worked fine for years after that. Just a thought before you spend to much time and money.
Thank you for all the tips... I am not real mechanical and couldn't figure it out... so I made an appointment to have it fixed. Thank you for your help!
I was able to replace my blower motor pretty easy . You have to take it apart again . Not that hard . $40.00 for the part and works great . Good luck .
