Luckily it wasn't that bad. It happened right after I installed the cover. I was keeping an eye on it duing the maiden voyage and was able to slow down right after it happened.
Once i got it centered it was fine.
cool....yeah, i'd like to get a nice fiberglass cover next...then it doesn't matter when it's cold out...the covers are a pain in the **** to get off and on when it's cold out...
I just bought an Access brand cover off of ebay for $290 shipped. I bought it because my father who lives in South Dakota swears by it. He said shrinkage isn't a problem. The covers are made in North Dakota, those folks know cold weather. Couple of other nice features, the end and the bows roll up with the tarp, so there are no spare parts laying around the bed when I roll it up. I didn't have to drill any holes. It does seem to built well.

My Dad had one on his old truck and just got one for his new one. If he is at the store and sees a good deal on something that is large, he has to either go home and pull it off or load it in with the cover sticking up. Sure they are more secure and better able to handle all kinds of weather but they aren’t as versatile.
I've got the extang tuff tonneau III. I wouldn't wanna have to stretch it back on tonight if I had it rolled up, it's about 2 degrees out, but when it's 30 or above, I don't have much trouble with it at all. No holes to drill, and you can put the bows in two different positions, so when it's cold, I can put them in the bottom position, and it helps a lot.
hey sher, read my post on the other thread you have started. i did a little test just for you to test my cover in the cold. the weather #'s were taken directly from weather.com about a minute (had to get shoes on) before I preformed each "test". the temp didn't really vary from the #'s i posted, and as far as time of night it was at 10:30 and 1:30. i assumed 3 hrs would be sufficient enough for the cover to get to it's lowest temp and settle. hope it helps a little for ya!
