Does anyone know the color of for the ignition wire that goes to the keyless entry module and better yet which one the keyless entry module is. I found three modules that sit above your right foot while driving ones black/silver, tall and square has two connectors with a lot of wires going into it (im thinking this is the keyless entry module) and behind that is a bigger flatter blue box with smaller wires going into it but still quite a few (thinking this is the ECU) and behind that a small module with about 10 wires. I need to know which is which after that I can track down the ignition wire but if anyone knows which one it is that would make it easy.
The keyless entry module says "Keyless Entry" on it. There are several wires from the module that go to the ignition switch - which one are you looking for? Look in this photo album - the RKE picture is looking thru the dash where the pocket used to be.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Jan-03 AT 11:36 PM (EST)]im looking for the one that tells it the ignition is on and why does it need 7 wires from the igntion seems excessive?
It has so many inputs because it does MUCH more than just unlock the doors. It also manages the courtesy lights on at least 3 circuits and does a few other things. That system in the EVTM takes 7 pages, not including the connector breakouts - the anti-theft system only takes 3.
It looks like the one you need is the Br/W wire which goes to fuse #6 (15A). It also uses fuses #12, 8, & 4.
Thanks Steve i need to wire it up so it doesn’t know when the engine is running but does know when the key is turned (remote starter) so i can unlock the doors when its running on its own but still shuts the dome lights and etc off when i put the key in haven’t figured what i will wire it to yet but do you see a problem with it not knowing when the engine is running all the time? seeing as it does quite a bit i don’t want mess it up.
Ok so i disconnected the Br/W wire and it works the way i want it too so far. Now i need to connect it to something that will let it know when im in the car. After searching for a while i pulled out the ignition and realized it has a circuit to make the chime ring when the key is just sitting in the ignition so you don’t leave it in the car. Does anyone know where this wire is and what color it is?
I am not sure if this answres your question but the wire that makes your key chim come on is in the steering column. It is right by the ignition assembly. it has a metal clip on the end that hooks to the metal in you steering column. I think the wire was black or brown but not sure. I unhooked mine so it would not chime with the door open.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-10-03 AT 06:16 PM (EST)]well that key chime wont work (wrong polarity) so now im thinking about hooking it up to the brake switch anyone see a problem with this? but i would rather have something more constant then the on and off of the brake lights
