HPOP Q's

Ok so im pretty mad that my damn truck is an early 99 my friend that has a truck built like 3 months later has the same tunes and is able to pull 40 more hp than me becasue of that.... my question is can I just use the 17* hpop off the newer truck, jody said I could put it on and it would work right and everything matches up but does that mean i need to get new tunes or is it just the fact that the 17* pump will provide more oil??

The newer pump has the potential to flow more oil, but you won't see a 40 hp difference. Also keep in mind that not all pumps are the same. Mine for example, cannot hold a constant pressure much over 2100 psi. It's a very weak pump, but according to Ford's specs, there's nothing wrong with it. So it's a possibility that you could swap out for another pump and not see a difference.

Are you getting the P1211 code right now? Also you'll have to ask Jody himself about tuning specifically for a late model HPOP. Also I doubt that your buddy's late 99 is pulling 40 more hp simply due to the HPOP. If they are both configured identically, then the difference in power is much less. If both of you modded differently, or your trucks aren't the same (ie manual vs. auto tranny), then the hp numbers will vary quite a bit. Put it on the dyno and find out the true numbers.

the 40hp is just what jodu told me the difference would be, not just becsaue of the hpop but the 99 vs later..... we are modded differently and i think i can probably still pull more power at the moment but not much, Im running a full 4'' and airaide intake, overboost elim...... he is just chipped nothing else so for now im safe lol... i think ..... but im just starting to put together the stuff im gunna want later on, cuz i think im gunna get a set of swamp diesel injectors and i think im gunna need more oil when i do

I see you have a six speed. I'm willing to go out on a limb and guess your buddy has an automatic. If this is the case I would bet you are pretty close to even at the wheels. early 99's had smaller turbo, smaller injectors, and smaller hpop than later years.

chip= $350
exhaust= $400
clutch= $700 (high performance)
diy-injectors= $1050
6.0 IC= $150+-
hpop= $400 (17* hpop if you desire,not a necessity)
total= $3050

That should get you pretty close to 400 hp and be less than a quality auto rebuild with room to spare for an h2e turbo. Just thought I would share my dream of mods to come.

actually his is a 6spd too.... and i know my hpop is smaller and injectors are too but the early 99 turbo is actually a tad bigger, its a 1.10 ar where the later is 1.0 cuz they were worried about surge and that bs.... I really want to get a bigger turbo but its just such a hastle to get all the crap id need, that and I just had to replace the turbo last month so I would fell kinda bad to just get rid of it lol

Try the diy-injectors.com. I want to try them just to tinker and see what makes them tick. The split shot nozzle upgrade should get you 50hp on and will work with your chip.

I'm designing a 20* swashplate to use in the stock pump. I'm hoping it will cure my low oil code when im really on it on 140 setting. Kind of like 1.5 oil. When i get one in i will report and maybe get some testers to test the pump on their truck.

Twin turbo project and big oil! When you get it all up and running you might want to get your designs patented. Lot of crooks out there looking to make a quick buck.
