I installed my DP-tuner last night love it. My truck is an early 99. I had a superchips 1705 before. I could hardly ever see any smoke with that. Now with the DP I can get smoke on the 80 econo and the 120 of course. Shifting is firm and quick. It sure is nice to be able to shift on the fly. Jody and Diane are great people to talk with like all the other DP tuner customers have stated numerous times. Later, Jamie
The 120 is definately alot touchier on the go pedal. Have not driven alot yet to compare. I still need to get the overboost eliminator. It does not take long to get the SES light on with this one. It sure puts a smile on your face when you can hardly see the white line on the road in the mirror from the smoke. HE HE Later, Jamie
I can get it to come on in the 80 and 120. I haven't driven it much yet. I'll try to put some more miles on it this weekend for a better report. I sure like it so far. Jamie
The overboost eliminator will cure the SES light. Chesterstrokers did you go with the BTS Valve body. And yes there is a difference between the 80 and 120. First of all the truck will shift sooner and the torque convertor will lock up sooner, because of the nature of the program in the economy tune. You wont see a huge difference between the 120 and 80 untill you really step on it. That's when the 120 stands apart. If you want something to jerk you head back go with the 140extreme (smoke tune). It is a 140 hp tune with a ton of fuel on the bottom end. I have had my chip for about 6mths now and till have not wiped the grin off my face.
120 is GREAT for merging on to the highway here!! 75mph limit (limit?? we don't need no stinking LIMITS!!!) and lots of trucks on I-25. Just did the KWIK mod and think I need the WW now.... hehehehe - PMS is worse than a crack habit! and better too!!!!
The 140 is best swithched into at around 20mph unless you own a tire dealership. Once you punch it you have to get yourself out of the back seat though.
