I know that this is easier than I think, but how does the ecu come out??? I don't want to remove that whole panel under the dash to find that there is an easier way
I'm sorry, but I still don't know exactly what to do. When you say kick panel are you referring to the plastic insert or the potmetal looking piece behind it?? I know it's easy and that I can do it, I just don't completely understand it.
kick panel = plastic panel next to your left foot in driving position.(hood release handle pokes through it)
probably should disconnect the battery when you do it.
What year is this for ? My 93 up trucks it is more work to take out inside than loosening/removing bolts on fenderwell unscrewing harness for ecm and removing . I just did one in 15 minutes last month. Coarse I have done a couple good luck
It's for a 92 and a 93. It looks to me like I have to take out 12 to 15 bolts to do it. I'm not saying that I'm mechanically unable, I just hate to waste time doing stuff the wrong way.
engine compartment unbolt along fenderlip loosen any bolts on back splash gaurd . So can bow it down. Remove screws and harness plug bow well down slide out and reinstall. I just took one out of 93 parts truck yesterday. 0 degrees May take while to get all loose. Good luck
Just wanted to say thanks to lostin90s. Apparently the 92 and 93 are different than others. The EEC is under the hood, basically in the firewall. Thanks again all
