yeah i'm putting enough pressure on it, I mean you just put the tripod bracket over the harmonic balancer and then screw the big center bolt and the two mounting bolts and then just tighten the center bolt then it comes off...Is there something i'm missing???
The arms on your puller are bolted to the harmonic balancer, right? If so and you have removed the large bolt and washer from the center of the balancer, tightening the bolt on the puller should do the trick.
Also make sure that the diameter of the bolt on the puller is small enough for it to go through the hole in the balancer and push against the crank shaft, and that it is long enough not to bottom out against the puller before it breaks the balancer loose. Sometimes you may need to use shorter arms on the puller.
Make sure the washer came out with the damper bolt. The first time I pulled the damper off my 302, the washer had been rtv'd in place on the crank, so pushing against the washer while pulling on the damper wasn't getting me anywhere but frustrated. It shouldn't be stuck that tight. The most recent time I had the damper off of my truck, I got it off without a puller at all. Just some gentle coaxing with a hammer while pulling on it did the trick.
