I've got two F250 camper specials, one stock '77, and one '79 converted to a dually with a dana 70 posi rear from a rescue wagon. I used chevy fiberglass stepside fenders, that actually match the body lines fairly well when grafted on. Anyway, what was the first year Ford made a factory dually pickup?
(I'd like to make the '77 a dually too, but the body and bed is completly rust free and I don't really want to cut it).
I just joined. I have two F250 Supercabs long beds, both are 460. One is a 1977, the other a 1979. The 1979 has been converted to a dually with a dana 70, rescue wagon springs, has C6, electric overdrive, warmed over and ported engine, trans cooler, engine oil cooler and dual tanks. I tow a racecar trailer with it. All up gross weight is 18,500 lbs. with the trailer and camper onThe 1977 is from California, close to stock, with a mild 460. My question is this: what was the first year ford made a dually pickup?
However there are a few chassis cabs, or single rear drives that were modified in the 1970's floating around.
My failing memory suggests to me that there was a company doing a few aftermarket conversions too back in the mid to late 70's. Something on the simular line as the four door bronco etc... But it's been so long ago, my memory may be corrupted.
I have a sales brochure from 1979 which on the back cover shows a factory dually with a stake bed. No duallies made with pickup beds as said, but still factory duallies. If I could post the attachment of the pic I would. I am also looking to buy a uhaul truck (dually) which is a 78.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The picture of the chassis cab which your link included is of an F-350 and nothing in the brochure refers to anything over an F-350.
