Thanks for the help guys
Might pick up a little more HP by richening it up a bit. IIRC at WOT you want about 13:1.
I think the intake manifold is your restriction. I would have used a Performer RPM. I do think there's more in it with a better intake. That should be close to a 400hp motor.
Glad you like it though!
Oh and I'm curious, how did you come up with 10.5:1?
ya been thinking about it all day. The hp is not quite what i thought i would get. but the torq is great and in a 60 t-bird we will not be flying around very fast. The torq will get me there faster than stock so lets hope the boys in blue leave me alone.
With a auto trans the shifting will be in the low 4500 range on the wood. and this motor should scare me just fine. thanks guys wouldent do it without your help.
I think there's a governor in that auto trans you can change for higher shifting. That and a Performer RPM.... Something to think about for down the road.
Oh, was that on an engine dyno, or rear wheel? I would suspect an engine dyno, but I have to ask.
I'd have also gone with a high rise intake over a Performer. Your hp/torque is pretty close to stock figures for a GT390. The comp ratio is closer to 9 to 1 though with those heads, pistons and .040 thick gaskets.
