Like most of these old trucks the rear fender well is rusted out in my '79 f150. I'm really not big on the cosmetics of my vehicles, just because I do a lot of stupid things and my stuff gets beat. The only problem is that I do not want the rust to spread.
What I plan on doing is just grinding out the rusted area and treating it with soemthing to keep the rust from comming back and then just primer it and give it a rattle job.
What if anything can I put on and around the are to keep rust from comming back and spreading?
A good rusn inhibiter is rustmart. Clean rust (sand or grind) let this stuff sit and cure full. Will turn rust black, or dark color. Then put something rattlecan paint anything ontop to keep moisture out. Not a bad idea to go inside wheelwells too, just to keep moisture out.
