If you have deleted it correct. Or not equipped.
If you have an issue for the 7.3 forum, probably should start a new thread. This one is old and won't get much response.

Eliminate codes?

I just put the elbow on mine when I replaced my turbo(Garrett B/B)... do you still have to get the EBPV delete sensor to get the PCM to think its working correctly??.. do they still make them?
Any help would be great!!... Having a transmission down shift problem and was told to get rid of ALL CODES first since the trans is totally controlled by them.

I'm not sure if this is the problem with my 7.3.

It's been cutting out for a second or 2. Check engine light. Water in fuel light come on. Buy they don't stay on.

I've replaced my cps with a gray one. It didn't stop. Cleaned ebps sensor and tube. Still does it.

Usually when this happens it's at Idol or when I let off the throttle, but last night on my way home up a hill as I was accelerating this happened again ; the truck cut out, kind of jarred, and then my turbo wouldn't boost at all, White smoke was everywhere and no power. The first thing I thought was that my turbo it out. But I turned off the truck waited for a minute and then tried starting it again and it ran fine all the way home.

My ICP sensor is oily. So I believe that needs replace. I just replaced my EBPS sensor this morning in hopes that maybe I damaged the old one while cleaning.

The only thing I can think of is the ICP bad or the replacement CPS is still faulty

Or pull the actual code rather than throwing parts at it hoping for the best.

If you have any aftermarket sensors, those are your first suspects. If you have a chip, pull it and get back to stock. If this doesn't cover the issues, then it may be time to scan the truck. I read the posts above from years ago, and a lot has been learned since then.

Quinton, welcome to FTE, there is great help here from a good group of guys. It would be best if you start your own thread and spell out your problem. A lot of guys will skip over an older thread.

Just pulled my whole turbo for a EBP code

There are two different EBP sensors correct? One in the front of the engine, and then the sensor on the pedestal of the turbo? Then there is the tube that comes off the sensor that I need to clean, but isn’t there another sensor connected to that? Really frustrated, I’ve had my bus a year and still haven’t driven more than a mile or over 45 mph. Could that be a sign of my ebp valve closing at 45 and my engine not getting enough boost? Thanks

The plug on the pedestal is the controller for the backpressure valve - to assist w/ warmups (not a sensor). It blocks off the exhaust when cold to help build heat in the system. Separate system. It opens when the engine warms up. Before the engine warms up the truck (or bus in your case) is kind of a turd..

The other end of the tube you're referring to connects to the exhaust manifold. The tube is just there to bring that exhaust pressure elsewhere rather than subjecting the sensor to the heat back there.

You probably should start a new troubleshooting thread rather than necromancing this old one.
