40 Pickup Cab Mounts
Does anyone have a set of cab mounts for a 40 Pickup. I was told that the cab mounts were made out of wood with rubber welting placed at the bolt holes, is this true? Does anyone know what the cab height is from the frame to the body at each frame hole. What thickness of rubber mount was used. Is there a body manual available for this year? 40 Pickup Cab Mounts
I have restored a 1934 Ford pick-up and had to make new cab mounts. The original ones were decomposed too much to keep but I measured them and made new ones of Oak. Yes, they had a rubber pad between the cab and mount and between the frame and mount. Those I cut from an inner tube from a tractor tire - thick rubber. This worked fine for me. I don't remember the thickness, but it varied with the location.
