Hello All, I just got my cab finally painted yesterday, it is a '78 F-150, 460, long box 2 wheel drive. I have a couple questions I hope someone can answer before I start putting it back together.1. On the inside of the engine compartment where the speedometer cable comes thru, is there a rubber plug or grommet that that goes in the hole? It is roughly 1 1/8 in size. 2. Has any one used the roll of body to frame webbing that LMC sells to go between the frame and where the pick up box mounts? Does it throw the body lines off? 3.Has anyone ever bought LMC's tinted vent windows and tinted side glass? I hope someone has answers as I can use all the help I can get.

There should be a grommet that wraps around the speedometer cable where it goes into the cab.
the cab does not really contact the whole frame because it should ride upon the mount rubbers, there should be a small gap most of the way. you could put something on the frame like playdoh or something, set the cab down and youll see if theres anywhere you wont want to lay the webbing because the putty would be squooshed out. im not familiar with the webbing (i know of it) if its compressable or not?
either way i doubt it would throw off body lines. the inner fenders adjust up/down for fender alignment and also the bottom fender bolt has some play too. the only one to worry about would be the bed and you could very easily shim that up
I have your little groumet for the speedo cable sitting here, why not just run the truck over to Protint and have them tint all the windows when you finally get the truck back in one piece, and what's this webbing you speak of?
The "tinted" side glass has the "greenish" tint to it that really is barely noticeable. It's not darkened tint.
You'll hear it over and over that LMC sells crap. Some things they do and some things are quite good. You are going to find that with most companies quite frankly unless they produce their own parts. LMC just distributes parts. I've gotten parts from them with Dennis Carpenter packing (which is OEM) and parts with "made in Taiwan". As we all know Taiwan parts are hit and miss. When it comes to aftermarket, the you get what you pay for comes into play more times than none. I've had the same thing with NPD and Broncograveyard. Parts packaged with Dennis Carpenter packaging and what looks to be like LMC packaging. So, what it boils down too is if the parts are aftermarket or OEM. You are going to spend more for OEM parts, but they are going to fit like factory. Aftermarket parts are cheaper for a reason. If a parts requires "fit" like body parts, be aware that it might not be very good.
Like I said, I bought the side glass from them and was happy and very well packaged.
Yeah I've gotten a few things from LMC over the years for both my 77 F150 & my 86 bronco. Body parts do not fit worth a Damn. The weather stripping & most of the interior stuff fit fairly well on both trucks
I was just giving the Garbear a hard time because he's almost like family.
