I just got an 86 F350, 460 7.5 liter engine. The smog pumps had been disconnected a long time ago and were locked up. I found the pumps easily, but I can't find the pulleys anywhere. Anyone know where I can get them online or in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?
Go to www.car-part.com and plug in your area, your truck, and the pump. It will bring up junkyards in your area that would have it. You can also bring up the whole country and see who has the lowest prices. Many of the junkyards on that site have sites of their own and will ship.

When new, Ford used two different manufacturers (suppliers) of Thermactor (smog) Pumps. Either type may have been used.
E5HZ-9B447-C Pulley, Smog pump .. Use with Holley Smog Pump
E5TE-CC=E5TZ-9A486-C ?? Could find no application for this pump. There are over 500 Calibration Codes, where pump application must be determined. I looked at over 100...If the other pump (below) looks the same, maybe you can use that pulley for this one, too. That's the best I can do, sorry.

These pumps are being used in place of the ones called for...for a Diesel 6.9/7.3.
spankydxm, thanks for the offer. What is a billet? Did you pull your pumps off to get performance? Should I even bother hooking them back up? Will not having them make it hard to pass the emissions inspection? I believe everything is stock on this truck.
we dont have emissions tests where I am from...and I dont believe you really need the pump to pass emissions just a diffrent catalyctic converter...I would have to ask my g/f father "Hot rod builder and muffler man"...
Given that the reman pumps total $75 and I can probably get the pulleys cheap, it probably makes more sense that switching out the catalyctic converter. You guys agree?
The smog pump system is the same for either the Holley or Nippondenso pumps. Ford just used more than than one pump supplier.
Try Green Sales in Cincinnati, Ohio..they have a website where their 800 number is listed. You can use that 800 number to have them see if they have pulleys in stock.
This is a helpful place, the staff are old geezer parts guys, just like me.
The pumps were still in your truck but someone took the pullies? Thats odd, usually people throw the whole thing away. If you dont have to do a smog check I wouldn't worry to much about the pumps. I have the belt removed from mine now that I dont have to do testing anymore. They will help if you do, they pump air into your exhaust to help burn any gas that might escape. If your truck has a GVW of #8500 or more, you dont need a cat either.

If you have inspections, then yes it won't pass if you have a station that lifts the hood. It all depends on the inspector. If you have a emissions sticker on the radiator, and it says "smog" on it, then you have to have one to pass.
But it does all depend on if you have inspections, and the station you get it inspected at. I had a 302 in my truck, and it failed for the belt being off the pump. I had the belt off because the bearings were locked up. I took it home, took the pump apart, and loosened the bearings up so it would turn, and put the belt back on. It was noisy, but worked long enough for it to pass, so I could then take the belt back off till the next time.
I don't know about your area of the country, but in my area I would just run to the junkyard and get one. I don't know about the other guys on here, but a junkyard can yield a lot of good parts, and it's rather fun to go rummage around if it's wintertime. You have to be careful in the summer for snakes and bees and spiders.

We have full emissions test here, so I definitely need the smog pumps, at least for another 3 years (after 24 years, the emissions tests are not required).
The truck was a mechanic truck on an asphalt company lot, so it has never been inspected. Their mechanics removed the belt and the pulleys (I assume to get more HP), but left the pump. Both pumps were locked.
I bought rebuilt pumps for $35 and $49, and I found the pair of pulleys at a junkyard today for $5 Thanks for the input guys.
