4.9 Smog pump or not

I believe that the bearings in my smog pump are going I have developed a whine while the truck is idling. I have removed the belt and found a ever so slight noise in the smog pump. Every other pulley is quiet. So my question is should I delete the smog pump or replace it. I do not have state inspections to worry about, but I do know the smog pump is needed for something. If I remember right is helps force gases out of the cat. Anyway what do you all think?

It's just for cold starts. Forces air into the cat to help it get heated up. Delete that ****.

Im not sure of the size of the bolts that will fit in place of the AiR rail. It's like 9/16 or something. Few writeups on ditching that rail.
