What is this box for???
On my '81 F150 302 truck, I have a stock white plastic box mounted low on the frame, near the front on the passenger side. It has a line running to the back of the truck and right now a open hose connection on top. What is this canister used for.

The configuration varies but it sounds like it has been disconnected. Your emissions label should show the proper connections. Without a suction line back to the manifold the "box" will eventually start dripping gas and smell terrible.

Actually it's been disconnected for the eight years I've owned the truck. No problems yet. I was just wondering since I am trying to fix up the truck a bit, what this was for and if I should do something with it.
