I also heard that Houston is covered with ice and a bit of snow. They dont even have the equipment to cope with it. It was colder in Houston today than it was in Chicago.

I think i'll keep my place here in Denver, because before I know it, it'll be beachfront property.

Snow doesn't even have to stick to the ground for Houston to shut down. But if a hurricane is coming, they'll all be outside driving around and taking pictures.

Glad I moved away from there. I compare it to the armpit of Texas.

The NW region has taken a beating as well.
Global warming my foot.
Well, yes it is warming up, but not because of anything we are doing.
Planet Earth has been coming out of an Ice Age for quite some time now.

Kwikk you have it right. Its not global warming its just another warming cycle. This old world has been through cycles as long as the records go back. Just 30 yrs back the scientist were claiming we were having global cooling.

Global Warming my lily white....you know. I think it was Drew Carey I saw once talking about it. I like his attitude. He said something about going outside and spraying aerosol cans and said "screw the grandkids, I'm cold now!!!" LOL

The problem is the uneducated extremists.

The perpetuate emotion instead of Real science.

Q: Do you see treehuggers running away from Forest Fires ot towards them ?

Same goes for Volcanic eruptions ..

Do people run toward them to try and stop them or do they run away from them ?

Once they learn how to eliminate or control these two HUGE Natural environmental disasters......I'll stop driving my 30 miles a week.

Did anyone see that special from Al Gore on global warming? I watched it on Dish Network PPV. I usually don't watch stuff like that, but I was bored one night. Anyway, it really was interesting. I just have to wonder if its all cracked up to be. Who can you trust on issues like this? If the facts he gave were true facts, it is quite disturbing. There were pictures of how the Artic Ice caps are melting at an all time rate right now. I guess you have to watch it. Makes you wonder though.

I heard yesterday that Al Gore will not debate any scientist that are against his ideas. One scientist on the program I heard said that Al only shows the melting ice & doesn't report the fact that on the other side of the same ice caps the caps are freezing at a rate faster than the ones are melting.

What we see as a "disaster" is just another natural cycle. The forests have gotten bad here in Colorado because all of the yuppies went up there and built their million dollar houses. Now the forests can't burn (as they have been for thousands of years) and now the forest fire issue is a real concern. One spark, and the whole damn state goes up. Destruction = renewal.

A volcano is just a side effect from the shifting of the earth's tectonic plates, something that MUST happen, or the planet will die.

I agree with Kwik. Science has shown that we have indeed been coming out of the ice age, ever since us wee humans were starting to build mud houses and sharpening rocks into spears. I think releasing million of pounds of cabon dioxide into the apmosphere is definitely not a good thing (we have seen what it can cause) but I don't think it's the cause of "global warming" if even there is such a thing.
