Captains chairs more comfortable?

Hello,
I am will be buying a 2007 cc 250 this weekend. I will be driving about 30,000 miles a year. Are the captains chairs anymore comfortable than the bench? I like the extra person the bench would hold but would get rid of it if the captains chairs will help my back. Also they have Arizona beige or Dark Shadow gray with the options I like. Any pros or cons to these two colors, looking for any feedback from people that own these two colors. Sorry about the newbie questions. Thanks Mike

Yes, I love my captains chairs. I'd love to install a few in my shop!

I have the sport interior, the leather is almost black. Seems to hide stuff better than my wife's Crown Victoria with the beige leather, but I haven't had the truck long enough to make a definitive conclusion.

My '05 Lariat had the bench in it, and my '06 Harley has the quad Captains. The Captains are all the way around better seats, IMHO. They are not as stiff, and they provide better support.

Thanks for the input, the captains chairs sounds like the way to go.

So you have both and can notice a big differance, thanks for the input. I will be doing allot of 500-600 miles round trips in one day and was looking for the better support.

Mine has the full bench cloth seat. It has no support at all. You can haul 3 people though. For basic short in town stuff - it is ok. For driving 30,000 miles a year - NO WAY! Get the captains chairs if you can, it is worth the extra money. Mine already came with the bench on the lot, so I really did not have a choice.

Same here my 03 had the bench and my 06 KR has the Captains, no comparison. I knew that going in this time. on that 03' I had to have my seats pulled out and swapped over to buckets with a console, trust me that it is not cheap to change out a bench for OEM captains after the fact, but it was still cheaper than paying TTL and taking that big first year depreciation twice. But I hated that hard bench that much.

Just to be different, I like the bench better. I have the bench in mine, a friend has the captain chairs in his. We go on a lot of long trips, we'll use his truck one time mine the next...and I feel more comfterable in the bench seat.
Oh, and I drive/ride about 60,000 miles a year. It's really just a matter of personal preference.

I have the captains chairs and love them too. I carpool with a guy who has the bench and he said he would rather have the captains in his SD. One less person to haul around but the CC can still seat 5 adults comfortable.

One thing that would be nice about the bench is folding down the chair and using the flat back to write on. Why do you prefer the bench over the chairs. I see you drive allot of miles. Thanks Mike

Well I would in no way want to change out the bench, so I am leaning towards getting the chairs. I drove the bench truck last week and it was fine for the short drive that I did, but I am going to drive the one with the captains chairs this weekend. Thanks Mike

if needed, But when i went to buy I could not find one with everything I wanted so I went with the Captains chairs. I would test drive both and then judge for your self.

It's just my personal preferance, I like the firmer feel of the bench.. After I get out of the truck with captain chairs my back is sore, but I can sit in my bench all day and still feel fine. I would say that most people are more comfortable in the captain seats...I guess I'm just weird.

I'm doing 500-600 mile trips at least every other weekend, sometimes every weekend. I don't feel stiff or sore when I get out of my truck.

The chairs were a little harder to get adjusted, in my opinion. I had to play with them a bit to get real comfortable, but once dialed in you'll love them.

I may add heat to mine.....I must be getting old.

This is kind of an apples and oranges comparison, but I think that the bench in my 2003 F150 is a little more comfortable than the captains chairs in my F250. That being said, they both are VERY comfortable and I've driven both vehicles 16+ hours without feeling like I've been stretched on the rack. I DO know, that with my particular job, I wish my F250 had a bench in it (Sometimes I have to sleep in my truck, and with the back of my extended cab loaded down with work gear, stretching out and getting some shuteye over the center console just isn't an option). I myself would go to a dealer and ask to sit in each and make your own comparison, though. But as far as driving, my F250 is very comfortable.......it just has a more "Super Duty" feel to the seats than my F150 does..........but I guess that comes with the territory.

Just my .02
