i know that the boost on a 94-99 is less than the 99.5-03 7.3s. anyone know how much boost on there? what is concidered alot? the ones from 99.5 up are much more powerful with that bigger turbo. what about larger turbos?
The turbos from the early 99s and the later 99s and up are not all that much "smaller" boost numbers will be about the same. OBS boost numbers are limited by the smaller injectors. You cant build boost without fuel. Too much boost is as bad as too little... Boost is heated air that you need to cool...
Yes, you can put stock 99.5+ injectors in an earlier truck. The earlier trucks have "code AA" injectors, which i believe are 95cc of fuel. The Early 99 trucks have AB injectors, which are about 115-120 cc of fuel. The Late 99 and newer trucks have Code AD, 135-140 cc of fuel if i am correct. You will need different tuning to accomodate the split shot injectors, and in the extreme tunes with the AD injectors, you may have a oil pressure problem due to a smaller pump.
