Hey, I got a 02 with the diesel. And i got a front end question. I live down a dirt road and if you hit a small pot hole or a washboard, NOT fast, But slow and it makes a huge rattling noise. I checked the ball joints and it seamed solid. I jumped on the chevy hooks and nothing. Im beginning to think its the sway bar end links. Please correct me if im wrong. And heres my other one. Going 55 mph, then you let off the gas and then apply it again it has a jolt and i can tell its coming from the rear end. What is it, U joint?? Hopefully not worse. Please help Thanks
If it's u-joints it would probably make a clunk noise when your stopped and go from drive to reverse. Could also be sway bar bushings or the pos rancho shock if there still on the truck.
In the link they state it clunks when puting the truck into drive. Mine is good when you shift. Its just when your at 55 and u get off the gas and lightly press it again. Im thinking Ring and pinion play. I hope not.
That's going to be a bit tricky to track down if it only happens a 55. Most of the suggestions your getting for us are typical of noise produced from a standing start. I just changed the oem Rancho's that my truck came with. One of the rear ones made a popping noise when compressed, but I never heard when moving. They were all completely gone. If yours came with the Bilsteins, your lucky. The Rancho's were a disappointment.
