DPFE sensor location help
I am needing some information on the dpfe sensor on a 1996 f-150 v8 5.0. My check engine light came on and the code was P0401. I have replaced the egr valve already. The holes didn't look clogged but I didn't put anything in them. I am wondering what else I should check. I have about replacing the dpfe sensor but I went to autozone and bought one but I can't seem to find it. The one I bought was black with two tubes coming out. I can't see anything that looks like that. I would really appreciate any pictures or info you guys have. Thanks. I am an engine dummy!!

The one on my 96 was right up on top of the engine. Just to the right of the throttle body. follow the tube off the bottom of the EGR valve, you will see the 2 thinner tubes coming off of it, folow them up to the top of the engine. Also, unless they revised it, the DPFE sensor is aluminum, not black.

I saw something that looked aluminum but the dude at autozone told me that it was back behind the engine and that the aluminum piece was something else. I have a haynes manual but I can't find anything about a dpfe sensor. Is it called something else??
