DPFE sensor???
DPFE sensor???
I have a 2002 F150 5.4/v8. Twice my truck has stalled during heavy rains. It dies you can start it up again and the tac goes up and down like crazy then dies again. Eventually you can't even get it started. Once it sits and it is dry out no problems. The shop can't figure it out because it has never left a code and they can't duplicate the problem. Recently I had a code come up of DPFE hose plugged or off. I checked the hose and noticed a large cut. I replaced the hose and the cam sensor. I don't know much of anything about a DPFE but I am wondering if this cut in the hose might have been the problem with my truck in the rain. Does anybody have any insight on a DPFE sensor or those hoses and if moisture getting in them would cause the truck to stall out. Thank you for any advice.
the dpfe sensor reads exhaust flow through the egr valve. i wouldn't think it would cause it to act like that in the rain. look at the gem and fuse panel getting wet from the windshield leaking.
