Wow no limit on blacks, we have poachers destroying the sensitive
population balance of the pinks here in northern California.
I say shut the season down 3-5 years with nobody including
commercial diving for restaurants. Automatic 10 years in the slammer for poachers with $50,000 fine and 5 years and $25,000 for sport diver infractions. Sounds hard azz but I remember in the 60's locating
8" to 9 1/2" in less than 20' of water while scuba photographing little
creatures. Late 80's even undersized abs were missing in the same area.
In Pacific Grove, Monterey Calif at low tide you could walk the rocks and
see large pinks.
Sad to see this happen.

I know several fishermen that make a very good living supplying the fancy Restaurants in some pretty Hi dollar Cities With fresh seafood. Some year round. Most just spend the summers fishing and winter in places like Cancun, Mexico, Nevada.
I remember those days when I was younger and single.

Back when life was simple and carefree,
what the hell happened?

Like the magnet on the frig says:

Inside every older person
is a younger person wondering
what happened!

We have poachers from Japan, China
or the Philippines, don't care about laws
or even speak English.

I have no bones with people that fish
legally and make a honest living.

"To speak to me in English press 1 now".

I have dad's scuba tank, date
manufactured 1952 with 3 rows
of hydro test stamps.

Kotzy, Just a guess ..but if your talking about restrictors..i believe the same would apply to all the FE's with the exception of those running the real hot cams from the factory?

Carl and Y Block...I remember years ago Surf fishing in Cabo San Lucas...and we really didnt care if we caight a damn thing but alway loaded up the coolers before leaving back to SoCal.. around Sunset on the beach..the locals use to come up to our camp.. with a portable Grill and cook us Lobster borrito's and Taco's for 10 american cents each... and they also supplied the Ta-Kill-Ya!! LOL Oh those were some great times...use to spend 2 weeks a summer down there!!

Carl the VR-1 that I ran in Cali was straight 40 SAE...and back here I asked Wally world to keep some on stock for me..a couple cases a year.. and I get 30 wt for summer and 10/30 for winter use... they dont even advertise it in those wts.. but it is available.. I have been running it for 30 years now..without any complaints.. and NO bearing or Valvetrain failures..Well not that was caused by the Oil!! LOL

I see, then the added valve train damage can be
added by an external source aka right foot.
Around my favorite parts stores they only sell
straight 50wt, will be asking about 30 and 40.
I recall in past posts the ZDDP numbers were real
high, thinking of running half 40wt VR-1 and half
20/50. At least it's the same brank i've run for many
years.

Topic change:
In your photos I see two different anodized end support
stands, these different rocker width units or a anodize
production thing? Piece together stands over time?
You stated PPF, i'm thinking FPP like my roller tip rockers.

Yes you see correct on the different anodize color...Blue..I stand had been replaced with a newer one.. from Doug..same measurements..just a different color from the Oil.. and one has the Slot for the extra clamping..No biggy to do the other 3 the same way!! I just wish I could use them..as I really dont want to add another $520 to the Rocker set up.. but at the HP I should ? be making ..this is no time for short cuts!!

And yes Carl that does work..Blending oils..I have done it for years.. on Off road bikes with no complaints!! LOL

Yes restriction is my reason for asking, the channels may have all been larger to make sure there was an ample supply on the 427, it didn't have any need to feed lifters as they were solid. The only increase in flow was the fully grooved mains which supplied the rods 360 degrees instead of road engines which oil them for 180. In all likelyhood the oil hole on the inserts were the same size as
a street engine. Thats about the only way to keep the pressure up.

Well to me thats a fair assumption.....More volume less pressure....
