Mine arrived today. I opened the envelope, gave it a little look and put it away in a drawer. I guess if I ever have an issue with the current set up I'll give it a try.
Jody's customer service is the best!! Some folks had no problems and there were probably a few that did (me included) but rather than send the new cables to just a few, it made perfect sense to send them to everyone just to make sure NO ONE had any problems. My hat is off to Jody for looking out for EVERYONE...not just those few with troubles. It may not have been the cheapest way, but you can rest assured that if you had a problem, it will probably be fixed. I got mine today and I feel confident it will. Will post results after installation next weekend. Sunday is my monday so I won't have the chance to get into it till next friday.
I sent my entire PCM to Jody and got it back complete. Any ideas as to the proceedure for installing the new cable? I had issues with the door locks and parking lights wigging out so I need to change mine. I am lost beyond pulling the PCM. I would assume taking the box out, taking it apart and simply pulling the plug on the chip and putting the new cable in? Thanks for any help..........
Just got mine put in. After pulling the PCM out you may be able to swap cables with a pair of needle nose and not crack the case, but if you cant once you get the 6 little 7mm screws out of the case it splits pretty easy. and the cable plugs in just behind the hole.
Hint: The shielded cable is much fatter than the flat cable and will need a little finess to get the PCM back in the holder but it will go.
From previous DP-Tuner installs, I have already trimmed back part of the plastic PCM holder where the cable would come out of the box & chip. Now the cable doesn't have to make a hard 180* immediately out of the box. I'm not a big fan of tight radiuses in wires though.

Mine has duct tape on it where it comes out of the PCM. I would assume you take the tape off and hopefully not have to take apart the box to get the cable to unplug. Since I didn't install it, I am kinda lost. Just trying to get some insight before I do the swap. Thanks for any and all suggestions and I will post results...Dave
Once you get the duct tape off you will see the hole the "Chip" Plugs into. If you remove the 6 black screws from the PCM case you can split it apart and see where the cable plugs into.
I guess you guys were in the same boat as me, i just got mine like 4 days ago. It seemed like every once in a while, when I jumped out of the truck, it would stall out .
Was it from the shaking of the truck at a standstill or from the door opening, idano...
