i keep getting door locks and window failure codes on my AE..every thing works and no problems are found so far..i just keep getting them codes..i was told it may be do to this cable..when i get the new one ill report reaults after the insall..
There was some electrical intereference with the old cable. The horn problem was the major issue. For me, only a couple times did I have an issue and it was when I shut off the EBPV, not when I hit the horn.
The replacement cables are shielded cables, and all customers who bought a DP Tuner F5 chip will be receiving the cable. There is no charge for this cable. You do not need to contact anybody, yet. The cables from Jody and Diane will be shipped within the week. If you don't have your replacement in 3-4 weeks (a mailing service was used to ship them, due to the high number of cables being shipped), then contact DP Tuner. If you ordered your chip from ITP, Dennis will also be shipping his shortly.
If mine doesn't act up the way it is now, do i HAVE to change it? I haven't noticed a problem, and now that this one is round, it will pose a mounting problem for me, i can't put it where i do now without cutting something.
You all should be getting yours soon. Mine showed up today, via USPS.
Kris, no, you do not have to change it if it's not interfering with anything. But, I don't think it will pose a problem. The new one is round, yes, but it's only about as big around as a pencil. And the last inch or so of cable doesn't have the sheathing, so it can still run through a flat area.

Mine seemed to have a mind of its own. The doors would lock and the parking lights would come on and off in conjunction with the doors locking and unlocking. Last night they would lock and unlock about every 30 seconds for the hour of the drive. I did however notice that in stop and go traffic, they didn't lock. Above 45 MPH they would lock and unlock....but on the way home, they were nice and quiet....strange for sure. Looking forward to getting the new cable installed and see if I still have the problems before Daytona...I would hate to be on the road and have the locks do thier thing every 30 seconds for a 6 hour trip.
No issues with mine, I guess it depends on where and how its routed. When I get mine I guess I'll put it in the glovebox next to my spare CPS and soon to be spare GPR!
