Hello, my 460ci rebuild is slowly coming together, I am just about to purchase rings for the 4.420 bore ( 060 ) could some-one tell me what rings are better- chrome moly or plasma moly ? with the push-rods i would like to use the larger 3/8 pushrod, do my 460ci heads need any machine work for them to fit, I will be using the Pro Magnum hydraulic lifters. Cam is Ford Racing M-6250-C460 with 588/614 lift. Regards Jamie, Australia.

the 3/8 push rod will work with a stock head with no proublem
what rings size do you need?
i have ran sealed power with good luck and there cheap and i have ran totla seal they seem to also work fine and do you want file fit or? my personal opinon is the plasma rings are good but the chrome molly works good also and alot cheaper what kinda heads you running?
Hello Backwoodspuller, I am using the Keith Black 401 Dome pistons ( 11-1 compression with my 97cc Cast heads ) Ring gap size is 1/16 1/16 3/16, I am having my cast heads reworked to the Cobra Jet spec's with 2.25 inlet & 1.76 exhaust valves along with opening up inlet and exhaust ports, as Performance shops down here want $4000-00 for the Blue Thunder or Super Cobra jet heads... a bit expensive for me, Rings I think will be the File fit type-say chrome moly, Thanks- Jamie.
